Lead Coach

At Lead Coach Level YOU will be the person(s) developing coaching within your organisation.

  • What structures are needed to make a coaching culture both strategic and operational?
  • Is coaching on the SDP?
  • Is coaching being talked about, around school?
  • Are governors aware that coaching is implicit within your culture; do you share the benefits of this approach with them?
  • We know that developing a coaching culture is not a quick fix, can you clearly articulate the benefits?

The Lead Coach tier will cover a minimum of one school year/3 terms.

Your Lead Coach file is only a starting point, to gain accreditation, the aim is that participants do their own research, reading and learning, demonstrating their contribution to this in the submission portfolio.

1. Mission & Purpose

In this section, you will clarify your understanding of the intended impact of embedding a pure coaching culture in your school. 

3. Developing as a Lead Coach - Coaching and Supervision Skills

In this section, you will keep a record of your coaching and supervision practice, including some analysis of the skills, impact and learnings drawn from your experiences. 

4. Impact on School Culture

In this section, you will celebrate examples of where coaching has contributed to a positive outcome for your school. 

5. Wider Reading

In this section, you will engage with a range of texts to broaden and deepen your understanding and thinking across a number of areas relevant to embedding a coaching culture in schools.

6. Accreditation Review

In this section, you will reflect on your Lead Coach experience.
